On ‘And i know i can feel bad when i get in a bad mood’ Minais B sidesteps his more fluid releases from the debut ‘Deep Care’ (2017) to the organ-led ‘Quiet Bloom’ (2020) with a solo sojourn of a post-heartbreak atmosphere; a spiralling quest of ambivalence and doubt. If ‘Quiet Bloom’ was a ritualistic treatment for grief, this record is instead a kaleidoscopic meditation on grief after the effect. Unafraid to be melodramatic, these are songs about loss, longing and shame.
